So we are at 36 weeks with Baby Sand and all is well. So some things that have been going on: last week for the 4th of July Kirb played in a golf tournament with some friends and they got 3rd place and had a great time. We then went and watched fireworks at PGE Park (Baseball Stadium in Portland) and then set off fireworks with friends. We got up the next day and left for Lost Lake for our yearly get together with our friends. It's a lovely place not far from Hood River, and we had a great camp site, great weather, and a great time. There is a hike where at the top there is a fantastic view of Mount Hood. I didn't go on the hike this year, it's a bit steep and far so I thought it would be smarter to stay at the camp site and hang out. We got a new tent, good for our growing family, and one where we can stand up. It would have been funny to try and deal with our little 2-man backpacking tent with my big belly. I wouldn't have been able to get up! Anyway, we stayed until Sunday and it was such a good time.

Kirb hasn't been featured much lately, so here are some photos of him camping and also working hard on our most recent project. We are building a retaining wall in front of our house, and it is going to look great when it's done. Kirby has been working so hard, doing all the labor on his own without any machines! Each of the blocks weighs 60 pounds, so I am not much help at this point either, but I did mow the lawn! :) Our little cat Jack seems to think he is helping, always sitting on the blocks or gravel. Good kitty.
Well, we're staying fairly close to home from now on, with only 4 weeks to go to the due date. Time has flown by, and it is so crazy to think that soon our little one will arrive. We can barely believe it but we are sooooo excited. We hope we are ready to start figuring things out. We'll keep posting updates, and we hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer!

Hello, Kevin and Sarah here (Andy's brother). I saw a link to your blog on my bro's site. Congratulations on the soon to be born baby! That is so cool you guys are waiting to find out whether its a boy or girl. I wanted to do that with Hannah but I was vetoed. I was looking at the pictures of the retaining wall and I have to ask. Kirb, what are you using the B-B-Q brush for on your wall assemby there? I see many tools but that one seems a bit out of place. Just curious. Congratulations again, we are excited for you guys.
Where is the baby? I keep checking your blog every day expecting to see Baby Sand in his/her glory. Aren't you due soon?
The baby is due on the 8th, I hope the actual day comes soon! Today would be fine with me. I should do another update, I know people are anxious to hear news.
