The Sandcastle: Brent and Terra's Wedding, August 22nd, 2009

We took a trip to SD for my brother Brent's wedding and had a great time. Kirby had to work in Denver the week we were supposed to leave, so Jeff and I drove out on our own. We went to CO first to see him and see some other friends before heading up to SD. We arrived the day before Jeff's birthday, had a big party for him (see previous post), and then had a week of wedding related festivities and of course the big event itself!

Brent married his high school sweetheart Terra Ketchum, they have been together for a long time and were so happy to get married! I have a sister-in-law on my side of the family now. I am lucky to have two wonderful sisters and two wonderful sisters-in-law. Welcome to the family Terra!

Brent and Terra got married at the Lutheran summer camp Atlantic Mountain Ranch near Custer, SD. It's very close to the Crazy Horse Monument. They both worked there at the camp for various summers in the past and they got engaged on a hike there as well. Most of us went to camp there when we were growing up, so it was fun to be there again. It was a beautiful day in the woods for the ceremony, and then we were out in an open area during the reception for an awesome meal, doughnuts (their "cake"), Sno-cones, music and dancing. Fun was had by all. :) There was much joy and celebration for Brent and Terra. They have a lot of people who love them and will support them and their marriage which is a wonderful blessing.
