Well Baby

Jeff playing with the Rhododendrons in our back yard

Jeff had his nine month well baby visit on my sister's birthday, May 21st (Happy Birthday K!) And, he is definitely well! He has been every time, and we feel so thankful for his good health! We haven't had to go in for anything except these visits and everything has been good each time. It's great when the doctor pretty much says that he doesn't have much to say. He did say that he'll start getting more infections and stuff, and I think he's already had a couple. He's had a couple mild fevers along with congestion and coughing, and I think he just got another, he's coughing and has really pretty green gunk coming out his nose, ick! But we just use Tylenol for fever and just try to give him a little extra water and rest and he's good to go. Even when a little under the weather, he's still pretty happy and wants to play. On to the stats: Jeff now weighs 20 lbs, 6 oz. and is 31.5 inches tall. He is still way above the 95 percentile for height, and about the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference. The doctor thinks he'll be tall and slender, and says he's not over or underweight so there's nothing to worry about. He has put on a little more "chunk" since he's been on formula, but not a whole lot, it was mainly that in that transition time when he wasn't breastfeeding very well, I thought he was getting a little too skinny, so I am glad to see a little more padding on those thighs. :) It's cute. He looks just right.

Not much else to report, but we do want to say CONGRATS! to our friends Jason and Kelly, who just welcomed their first baby into the world. His name is Patrick and he is such a cutie! He was almost exactly 8 lbs and looks just perfect, and his parents report that he's a good eater and everything so far. We are so happy for them! They now know how we feel about our little one. Becoming a parent is such a wonderful and amazing experience! Also, my cousin and his wife just welcomed their second daughter into the world, Natalie Grace, and she came on her daddy's birthday. What a present! CONGRATS to them as well. We hope all is going well with the new babies. Have fun!
