My mom arrived last Saturday and it has been great having her here. We have been enjoying this "down time" before the baby comes, just hanging out and talking and taking walks (more like waddles for me) and baking. She drove out here from South Dakota and brought a cradle that belonged to my Grandmother Armerding (my mom's mom) that we are going to use for when the baby is a newborn. It is so so pretty and we just love it. We had a fun time getting it cleaned and polished and then putting in the bedding. Now all we need is the baby!!
I had an appointment this morning and I am now 2 centimeters and 70% effaced, so there was some progress, but not a lot, and the baby is still fairly high although definitely on the way down and doing fine. We did at least get put on the schedule to be induced on the 14th, and just hope that I can go into labor before that. It turns out the past couple days wouldn't have been the best to have the baby because the hospital had a major busy spell with people having babies. My doctor told me she hadn't seen it like that in ten years, and that people were having to share rooms and everything, which almost never happens there. So, I guess I am somewhat glad I wasn't there when it was chaos. Now hopefully it won't be so busy and hopefully I'll go into labor soon. Our inducement is scheduled for the same day as another of my doctor's patients who was bumped because of how busy it was, and if the hospital continues the busy spell, I will be bumped to the 16th instead.
Anyway, we'll post more info soon. Hopefully it will be that the baby has arrived! Thanks for all the comments, calls, emails, etc. with prayers and well wishes. We really appreciate it! love to all!

Oh Meg... The cradle is beautiful. How special that your mom brought it out for you. Take loads of pictures while the baby fits in there!!! Love you always
What a gorgeous cradle! We send all our best as you prepare for the little one. It's great that your mom will be there, she can do all of the stuff you used to be able to do pre-child, like run to the grocery store, get food, make food, clean, etc. I hope you are getting plenty of sleep and spending time with Kirby too. Here's to the home stretch!
