Baby room furniture and other news from the Sand Castle

It really feels like spring now, and with Easter, flowers, leaves on the trees, and even the pollen making me sneeze, I have been thinking of new life, especially our new little life that will be coming out into the big world in a few months. We are so excited, and we love watching the belly move from the exploration of the little one inside me. It's always nice to have those movements even during school, they always put things in perspective and make me worry less about all that is going on with school and everything.

I finished the opera, and it went pretty well considering the chaos leading up to it. The costumer/make up artist made me a blonde, and they just made my character pregnant too so we didn't have to hide anything, so here are a couple shots from that whole ordeal.

I am still working hard at school, and my next big project is my master's recital on May 19th. I can't believe how soon that date will be here! After that I only (hopefully) have a few more weeks of driving to Eugene every day, as I am taking classes on-line to finish up my degree over the summer. I can't wait!

Kirb is doing well with work and play, he is loving the nicer weather and getting to golf after work because there is still light this time of year. Today he had a good day of golf and was even happy to go do a little much needed clothes shopping for him. He keeps getting thinner while I get fatter. Good for him. :) His next big thing is that the guys are going to Vegas in early June, so he's really looking forward to that.

We got our baby furniture and got it all set up with a few things that we have so far. It's a beautiful cherry crib and dresser/changing table. I do have some bedding, and we have some blankets from both sides of the family. One is an afghan from my family that I am told I loved to stare at when I was a baby, and I think a couple of my siblings did as well. There are cute daisies on it and the green and yellow work well with the colors in our baby's room. :) There is also a blanket that was made by Kirb's grandma with a cute bear on it. I have another pink crocheted blanket that was mine when I was a baby that my mom gave me, and so if we have a girl, the pink will be ok, but as much as kirb thinks pink is fine for guys to wear...if we have a boy that will probably stay in the closet for a while. I guess we shall see in a few months! Here are some pictures of the baby's room. We really love it so far, sometimes we just have to go up and sit in there for fun.

We thought it would be funny to try and both stick our stomachs out as far as possible and see who would win. For many weeks Kirb had me beat but I think I have definitely passed him at this point. I can really stick it out pretty far! Sarah says my belly is still "prettier" than Kirb's though even if it is bigger. Thanks, Sarah! :)

We'll keep updating when we can. We hope your spring is getting off to a great start.

Much love to all!
